The Start of Breakdancing

Today's topic for #MusicMonday is breakdancing, because where there is music, there is also dancing. So naturally they fall into the same category. If you’ve never seen Breakin and Breakin 2: The Electric Boogaloo, then make a date with your TV tonight. These movies did more than make men wearing crop-top tees sexy, it also made breakdancing cool, mainstream, and overwhelmingly popular worldwide even to this date.

Quick trivia: Do you know where breakdancing originated? The Bronx?

I always thought that break dancing originated in the streets of American Black culture. Boy was I (and many other bloggers) wrong. I encountered a film dated in 1959 from Kaduna, Nigeria. I was floored at not only their athletic agility but the direct reflection of the influence it had on American breakdancing. So yes breakdancing was in fact invented in Africa. She has just not received her recognition for all her wonderful contributions to the world, until now. Seeing is believing so I attached some videos below. Tell us what you think @Royalcations
